Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, or related field.
• 2+ years of fundraising or relationship management experience in a nonprofit setting.
• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills with experience using research tools.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with donors and stakeholders.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience with donor management systems/CRM platforms (Bloomerang).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects.
• Manage a portfolio of 150-200 donors.
• Develop and implement individual cultivation and solicitation strategies.
• Expand pipeline with new donors and prospects through meetings and relationship building.
• Track and report on progress toward major giving goals, including revenue and engagement metrics.
• Conduct in-depth research on prospective donors to assess giving capacity and interests.
• Produce solicitations, proposals, impact reports, and other development materials.
• Maintain donor records and fundraising reports; support program strategy with the CDO.
• Represent Habitat OC at events and development activities.

SummaryThis Major Gift Officer position will play a critical role helping Habitat for Humanity of Orange County grow and strengthen our Major Gifts program to achieve our fundraising goals and advance the organization’s strategic objections. This role is responsible for cultivating relationships with donors to secure philanthropic support, which includes identifying, engaging, soliciting, and stewarding donors. Candidates need to be passionate about driving impact and excited to join a dynamic, mission driven team with a growth mindset. This role reports to the Chief Development Officer, and in collaboration supports securing sponsorships for high-profile events such as the Keys to 100 Gala and Leaders Build.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesIdentifies, qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards donors and prospects, through visits and other forms of direct personal contact in accordance with performance targets.Manage a portfolio of 150-200 donors.Developing and implementing individual cultivation and solicitation strategies.Expand pipeline with new donors and prospects through face-to-face meetings and relationship building.Track and report on progress towards major giving fundraising goals, including revenue and engagement metrics.Conduct in-depth research on prospective individual donors to assess giving capacity, philanthropic interests and affiliation.Produces persuasive and accurate solicitations, proposals, impact reports, touch points, and other development related communication material in support of the department’s fund-raising activities.Responsible for maintaining donor records with updated contact information, meeting notes and other key information; producing necessary fundraising reports.Collaborate with CDO on the overall major giving program strategy, including private and family foundations.Serve as an ambassador for Habitat OC and participate in development related activities.Other duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, or related field.2+ years of fundraising or relationship management experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.Strong research, analytical, and writing skills with experience using research toolsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with donors and stakeholders.Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Experience with donor management systems/CRM platforms (Bloomerang)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to handle confidential donor information with discretion and professionalism.Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.Equal OpportunityHabitat for Humanity of Orange County is an equal opportunity employer.
