Job summary

Groundworks New Mexico is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to plan, lead, and implement major gifts and legacy giving programs for Animal Protection New Mexico and Animal Protection Voters. The role focuses on donor development and strategic fundraising to grow support.

Based in New Mexico, the officer will cultivate relationships with existing donors and identify new prospects, develop solicitation strategies, steward donors through the major gifts process, maintain donor portfolios, and prepare

• Experience in major gifts or legacy giving fundraising.
• Proven ability to cultivate donors and build partnerships.
• Based in New Mexico and able to work remotely.
• Strong proposal and reporting skills for major gifts.

Job description

Responsible for planning, leading, and implementing the major gifts and legacy
giving programs for Animal Protection New Mexico and Animal Protection Voters.

Additional Areas of Responsibility:

The Major Gifts Officer will
be responsible for cultivating relationships with existing major and legacy giving donors, and for identifying
prospective major and legacy giving donors; as well as developing and maintaining business partnerships.
Key activities include prospect research, developing effective solicitation strategies, stewarding donors
through the major giving process and beyond, maintaining donor portfolios, tracking key metrics, and
preparing major gift proposals and reports.

Other Information/Requirements:

Candidate must be based in New Mexico. APNM staff are working primarily from home, with
occasional work from APNM’s Santa Fe office.
