Job summary

United Way of the Midlands is seeking a Philanthropy Officer to grow leadership giving and deepen donor engagement across the Midlands, with annual revenue responsibility of $600k. Reporting to the AVP of Major Gifts & Endowments, you will cultivate major donors and Tocqueville Society members while supporting workplace campaigns and fundraising strategies.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of fundraising, development, sales, or related field with demonstrated success.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
• Strong relationship-building skills with donors, partners, and community stakeholders.
• Proficiency with donor management and CRM systems; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Grow, manage, and strengthen relationships with major gift donors and Tocqueville Society members to increase philanthropic support and long-term engagement.
• Execute year-round cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
• Prepare donor correspondence, proposals, presentations, and stewardship materials.
• Maintain accurate donor records in the organization’s CRM system.
• Collaborate with Campaign Directors and volunteers to identify leadership giving opportunities.
