Job summary

ASU Foundation for a New American University is seeking an Assistant Director of Development in Tempe to lead externally focused fundraising. You will manage a portfolio of donors, engaging individuals, corporations, and foundations while collaborating with ASU leadership to meet ambitious gifts targets. You will develop proposals, manage donor recognition, and work across units to maximize philanthropic impact for the W.

Qualifications

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact with academic leadership, donors, and volunteers.
• Ability to conduct research, gather data, analyze information, and prepare reports for development objectives.
• Database management skills and experience with donor tracking.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion with confidential information.
• Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce) and donor relations best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop fundraising and engagement plans for multiple business areas.
• Cultivate donors and secure gifts, targeting $50,000+ with annual goal of $500,000–$1 million.
• Collaborate with faculty, directors, and fundraisers to maximize philanthropic potential.
• Prepare proposals, budgets, and collateral for investments.
• Design and evaluate development activities to drive donor retention and pipeline growth.
• Record contacts and proposals in ASU Foundation Salesforce.
