Position Summary

The Maître D' serves as the face of the dining room, ensuring guests receive a warm welcome and exceptional service from arrival to departure. This position will assist in overseeing the front-of-house host team, manage reservations and seating arrangements, and coordinate closely with service and kitchen staff to maintain a smooth flow of operations and an outstanding guest experience.

As one of the first points of contact with guests, the ideal candidate must exhibit enthusiasm, desire, and a passion for hospitality excellence.

This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00-$25.00.

This position will remain open until July 31, 2025.

About the Venue

The RaRa Room is a members-only restaurant created by Mario Carbon, Rich Torrisi, and Jeff Zalaznick. The restaurant pays homage to the essence of the Great Gatsby era. The RARA Room is a speakeasy-style setting reminiscent of early 20th-century New York, where delicious, exceptionally prepared food was served in an elegant and comfortable style without being pretentious.

Responsibilities
  • Greet guests warmly and ensure a high level of hospitality from the first point of contact.
  • Manage and coordinate reservations using reservation software (e.g., Seven Rooms).
  • Organize and supervise the seating plan, ensuring efficient table turnover while honoring guest preferences.
  • Maintain communication with kitchen and wait staff to ensure prompt and seamless service.
  • Train and supervise hosts/hostesses and front-of-house staff.
  • Handle guest complaints and special requests promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor dining room atmosphere and cleanliness, ensuring alignment with brand standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the management team to implement service strategies and special events.
  • Uphold compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of restaurant experience in high-volume and fine dining restaurants.
  • At least 1 year experience leading a front door team.
  • Previous Maître D' experience is preferred.
  • This is a part-time position requiring open availability, particularly for Thursday through Saturday shifts and event-based scheduling.
  • Basic computer knowledge with the ability to communicate effectively.
