A leading government agency in Pottstown is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to oversee essential repairs and maintenance of County facilities. This role includes supervising a team, performing varied skilled tasks across multiple trades, and ensuring safety and operational efficiency of buildings and grounds. Candidates should possess a high school diploma, significant maintenance experience, and the ability to operate various tools and machinery in a variety of weather conditions.
The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing and leading a variety of skilled maintenance, repairs, and construction tasks requiring trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, painting, masonry, concrete, asphalt, and landscape management. Facilities maintained may include buildings, bridges, parks, and trails. The role involves ensuring that the County’s facilities, grounds, and equipment are in good operating condition, well maintained, and safe for public and employee use. The position requires leading and performing tasks for crews or staff.
This is an essential employee role, with potential requirements to work during office closures due to weather, disasters, or emergencies, including outside normal hours, weekends, and holidays. A valid driver’s license and completion of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) permission form are required. A criminal background check is also mandatory.
Background checks, physicals, drug tests, and other assessments are required post-employment offer. Computer skills include basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with County-specific programs. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 100 pounds, and working in various weather conditions. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. The work environment may involve noise, exposure to chemicals, dust, and working alone or in crews, often on uneven terrain.
