Job summary

Suburbanicemacomb in Royal Oak, MI is seeking a full-time Zamboni Driver to operate ice resurfacing equipment and maintain ice quality. You will monitor water levels, blade depth, and edging, and keep logs of resurfacings and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities include facility upkeep, snow removal, and assisting with event setup. Must be 18+, possess a valid driver’s license (preferred), and have prior Zamboni/Olympia experience; forklift or other machinery experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Prior experience operating a Zamboni or Olympia resurfacer.
• Knowledge of ice refrigeration systems is a plus.
• Forklift or other machinery operation experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work in cold environments and on wet/slippery surfaces.
• Stand, walk, bend, and operate machinery for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate ice resurfacing equipment to clean and resurface the ice before, during, and after sessions.
• Monitor ice quality and adjust water levels, blade depth, and edging as needed.
• Perform edging, shaving, and patching to maintain ice integrity.
• Maintain logs of resurfacings, ice temps, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform general maintenance tasks in the facility (locker rooms, restrooms, benches).
• Monitor building systems and report issues; assist with snow removal.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for events, games, or rentals.
• Pre- and post-use checks on resurfacer; clean, refuel, and store equipment.
