JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Brandywine is searching for a Maintenance Worker Utility to join their team. Duties include:

1. Operate various types of scrubbing, buffing, and shampooing equipment such as scrubbing machine, vacuum, wet-dry pick-up machine, etc., and hand tools, as required
2. Sweep, scrub, strip, seal, wax and shampoo various types of floors and floor coverings and furniture
3. Remove, replace incandescent bulbs, fluorescent tubes and starters, shades, and covers (all from permanent fixtures), venetian and roller blinds, window screens, wall hangings, etc.
4. Remove accumulated waste and debris from buildings, as required
5. Remove, move and/or relocate furniture, equipment, supplies and construction materials, unload incoming materials and move to storage locations
6. Wash windows, wall sections, floor to ceiling, ceilings, venetian and roller blinds, light fixtures, window screens, etc.
7. Assist in set-up and clean-up of chairs, tables, stages, platforms, bleachers, lecterns, etc., at various campus locations for banquets, plays, and other scheduled events
8. Remove debris from walks and driveways; rake and remove leaves; pick up paper and other debris
9. Operate motor vehicle to transport materials, equipment and personnel between building work sites
10. Maintain tools, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition
11. Shovel snow and chop ice; spread cinders, sand and other anti-skid materials on walks and driveways using small power and/or hand tools, as required

Job Requirements: Requires the use of simple writing, adding, subtracting, whole numbers and the carrying out of instructions; and the use of fixed gauges and direct reading instruments and devices in which interpretation is not required. Up to and including 3 months of effective experience.

Work Schedule: 1:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Days Off: Saturday, Sunday
