The City of Katy is seeking a dependable and hardworking Maintenance Worker - Streets to join our team and help maintain the beauty, safety, and functionality of City properties and public spaces. This position performs a variety of landscaping and grounds maintenance duties, including mowing, trimming, irrigation support, debris removal, and general outdoor maintenance. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, works well in a team environment, and is comfortable performing physically demanding work in varying weather conditions. Candidates with experience operating landscaping equipment and knowledge of irrigation systems are encouraged to apply.
Performs general landscaping duties.
High school diploma or equivalent; AND one (1) year of general maintenance experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Valid Driver's License is required.
This position requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Employee may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, and intense noises.
