Job summary

City of Denison is seeking a Public Works Maintenance Worker to perform routine utility maintenance and repair across sanitation, streets, parks, and water/wastewater infrastructure. You will assist field crews and operate basic equipment to keep city services running smoothly.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; a clean driving record is preferred. Comfortable with physical work in varying weather and following simple instructions is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license.
• Must have driving record sufficient for coverage by City’s auto liability carrier.

Responsibilities

• Performs utility field work related to Public Works maintenance and repair. Divisions include sanitation, streets, parks and recreation, and distribution/collection
• Assist field crews with installation, repair, maintenance of parks, city streets, residential and commercial pick up, and water/wastewater infrastructure
• Drive and operate heavy equipment for divisional maintenance/repair activities
• Services equipment and City vehicles with water, gas, oil and air.
• May be required to work in other Public Works divisions as needed
• Operate equipment/tools such as pipe saws, cutters, wrenches, weed eaters, mowers, and other various items, etc.

Performs routine public works and/or utility maintenance and repair. Performs other duties to include assisting other Public Works divisions as required.
