Responsibilities

• General grounds maintenance, including mowing grass, weed trimming, snow removal and upkeep of grounds equipment.
• General building upkeep and carpentry repairs or renovations such as molding replacement and structural repairs.
• Routine plumbing repairs including fixtures, water heaters and related structures.
• Interior and exterior painting and staining as scheduled by the Regional Manager.
• Drywall repair and finishing, prep for painting or paper.
• Light electrical work such as outlets, fixtures and related upgrades.
• Maintenance and repairs at all Valley locations, including travel between sites.
• Assist in moving furniture and equipment between locations and storage facilities.
• Light vehicle maintenance and logging of service in vehicle logs.
• Maintenance of gas furnaces and air-conditioning units.
• Attend trainings and mandated meetings as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Details

Job Location: Morgantown Office - Morgantown, WV 26508, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: GED, Job Shift: Day, NATURE OF WORK: To perform normal maintenance work under the direction of the Program Manager of Maintenance and Transportation. Will assist in repairs, renovations, moving, vehicle maintenance and general upkeep of the facilities of the agency. Will assist in the routine care and upkeep of the grounds, plant and equipment owned or leased by Valley.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• General grounds maintenance, including mowing grass, trimming weeds, snow removal, routine care and upkeep of grounds maintenance equipment.
• General building upkeep and general carpentry repairs or renovations such as molding replacement and other necessary structural repairs or renovations.
• Routine repairs and upkeep of plumbing fixtures, including replacement and repair of bath and kitchen fixtures, water heaters and other plumbing structures.
• Interior and exterior painting and staining based on schedules to be determined by Regional Manager of Maintenance and Transportation.
• Repair and/or renovation of drywall, including fine finishing work and preparation for painting or paper.
• Light electrical work, such as outlet, ballast and light fixtures and/or installation and unit specific upgrades.
• General building maintenance and repairs at all locations owned or leased by Valley.
• Travel to all locations owned or leased by Valley to perform essential duties.
• Assist in moving and relocating furniture at all locations owned by Valley and/or moving furniture or other items to and from storage facilities and alternate locations.
• Light duty vehicle maintenance such as routine fluid and filter changes (engine oil, transmission fluids, and appropriate filters;) this would include taking vehicles to the shop for repairs and documentation of this into vehicle logbooks.
• General maintenance and repair of gas furnaces and air-conditioning units.
• Monitors, maintains and uses appropriately, all equipment and supplies.
• Supports and helps in the training of new employees.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certificate or ability to be trained.
• Attends in-service trainings and mandated meetings as assigned.
• OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

Qualifications

• Must have demonstrated basic proficiency in the use of tools and materials of skilled trades such as carpentry, plumbing and electrical, as evidenced by previous work history or vocational training.
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting up to 150 pounds and work in adverse conditions a small percentage of the time.
• Ability to work alone on assignments and bring them to completion.
• Ability to comply with Clients Rights.
• Ability to comply with Valleys and Division departmental safety procedures.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
