Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a maintenance/janitorial associate at our Chattanooga facility to perform property upkeep, landscaping, and light carpentry. The role includes welding, plumbing, painting, and overhead door repairs, along with inspecting the Service Center and maintaining cleanliness.

Flexibility for night or weekend shifts and ability to work under time constraints are required. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, prior janitorial or general maintenance

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED or equivalent experience
• Able to read and interpret work orders and manuals
• Experience in janitorial/general maintenance preferred; welding/plumbing/painting helpful
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Job description

Job Summary:

• Perform property maintenance and landscaping
• Perform light carpentry
• Welding, cutting, plumbing, painting and overhead door repair
• Inspect and perform maintenance within the Service Center building
• General cleaning to including sweeping, mopping, buffing, dusting, etc.
• Troubleshoot and correct problems
• Repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation
• Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
• Must be 17+ years of age
• Previous janitorial and general maintenance experience preferred; knowledge in welding, cutting, plumbing, painting, overhead door repair and industrial experience helpful
• Stable employment history
• Transportation experience a plus
• Ability to interpret work orders and technical manuals
• Must be able to work and complete tasks within time constraints
• Must follow all company safety practices
• Night/weekend shifts may be required; must be flexible and dependable
• Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job
• Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
• Must be able to interact well with others
• Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
• Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
