Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Maintenance Worker, Community Corrections to install, maintain and repair facility systems, including plumbing, electrical, and grounds at our Oklahoma site. The role focuses on safe, secure operations and preventive maintenance for vehicles and equipment.

You will inspect equipment, diagnose malfunctions, perform repairs, and support supervision of residents assigned to the Maintenance Department while upholding high standards and policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of general maintenance or construction experience required.
• Equivalent technical/trade courses may substitute for the required experience.
• Knowledge of building construction and building systems preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Minimum age 20 years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair facility structures and systems to support safe operations.
• Inspect equipment, diagnose malfunctions, dismantle and repair parts, and test operation.
• Install and repair electrical wiring and components of machinery and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Provide supervision and tracking of residents assigned to Maintenance Department.

Without Medical Benefits Wage is $25.21 includes no medical, but does include PTO, Paid Holidays, 401K and more ($20.28 per hour + $4.93 for every 40 hours worked)

The Maintenance Worker, Community Corrections installs, maintains and repairs the facility's building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles and grounds.

• Maintain and repair physical structure of facility in keeping with safe and secure operations of the facility.
• Inspect and listen to machines and equipment to diagnose malfunctions. Dismantle defective or malfunctioning machines and equipment, installs new or repaired parts, and tests operation following repair.
• Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment according to the preventative maintenance plan or as directed by supervisor. Clean and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other machinery.
• Provide for the proper supervision and tracking of residents assigned to the Maintenance Department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
• Two years of experience in general maintenance or construction is required.
• Additional equivalent technical/trade school courses in a maintenance or construction related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Knowledge of building construction and the operation of building systems is preferred.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 20 years of age.
