Lake Forest School Districts 67 & 115 seeks a 1st shift, 12-month Maintenance Worker to uphold district facilities, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and electrical tasks. You will perform skilled work, respond to building issues, and support events while adhering to safety rules.

Starting rate ranges from $22.24 to $23.60 per hour; insurance and IMRF pension are provided. Weekend/holiday work may be required, with outdoor and ladder work as needed.

Qualifications

  • HVAC, plumbing or carpentry experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required for building systems and records.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in busy environments.
  • Valid driver's license required to operate district vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and replace filters per preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Repair plumbing fixtures and leaks; assist with building systems.
  • Repair and replace doors; maintain flooring and walls.
  • Perform light construction and snow removal duties.
  • Coordinate maintenance with general contractors on larger projects.
  • Assist in setups and takedowns for events; comply with policies.

Lake Forest School District 67 is seeking a 1st Shift, 12-Month Maintenance worker.

Description: The Maintenance position is responsible for the maintenance of all district buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and electrical. In addition, they shall perform a majority of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair, adjustment, and maintenance of the building systems, equipment and structures.

Starting rate: $22.24/hour to $23.60/hour

  • Pension - the district and employee contribute to IMRF
Essential Functions:
  • Maintain and/or replace filters according to the Preventative Maintenance Schedule
  • Plumbing
    • Repair drinking fountains
    • Repair clogged drains
    • Repair leaks
    • Repair pumps
  • Repair and replace doors
  • Flooring and wall tile
  • Light construction
  • Snow Removal
    • Plows and salts drives and sidewalks as needed
    • Shovels walks and outside steps as needed
    • Winter hours vary on the weather. Starting early or staying late may be required
  • Working weekends and holidays may be required
  • Repair door locks and lockers
  • Assist with snow removal as required
  • Assists in setups and takedowns for building events
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned by their direct supervisor
  • Adheres to Board of Education policies and procedures
  • Maintain budget while ordering supplies for the campus
  • Coordinate all maintenance work throughout the building
  • Coordinate with general contractors on bigger projects
Physical Demands & Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, grasp, feel, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and lift. Repetitive motions are required. The employee must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 80 pounds of force frequently, and up to 50 pounds of force constantly. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Elevated work on ladders and aerial lifts is also required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and is subject to loud noises, heat, cold, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gasses, chemicals and hazards associated with moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasionally works in close quarters and narrow aisles and passageways.
