Job summary

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to perform plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs, perform inspections, and prioritize repairs to keep facilities safe and functional. The role requires HS diploma and the ability to lift 50 lbs and work with ladders up to 20 ft.

Hours are 35 per week, with a 27 per hour rate plus a weekly on-call pay of 150 dollars. The position operates at Central Administrative Services in Trenton, NJ with no remote work

Qualifications

  • HS diploma and experience in general building maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and use ladders up to 20 ft.

Responsibilities

  • Perform plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs as needed, plus painting and plastering.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of Agency Facilities.
  • Prioritize repairs and develop a schedule for completion.
  • Recommend maintenance equipment needs to supervisor.
  • Perform emergency repairs during off hours as needed.
  • Maintain assigned maintenance vehicle and report repairs to supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY

Performs maintenance and repairs on assigned Agency Facilities. Repairs may include but are not necessarily limited to plumbing, electrical work and carpentry. Maintain all facilities in a safe and orderly manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs as necessary where code permits as well as painting, spackling, and other repairs as required.
  • Performs periodic inspection of all Agency Facilities.
  • Prioritize facility repairs and develop a schedule for completion.
  • Recommend maintenance equipment needs to supervisor.
  • Perform emergency repairs during off hours as needed.
  • The assigned maintenance vehicle, to be used to travel to various Agency work sites, must be kept clean and always organized for ease of access and safety.
  • Responsible for notifying supervisor when the assigned vehicle requires repair or service (Oil Changes, etc.)

  • General knowledge of building maintenance and/or general construction
  • Ability to interact with contractors, and CCDOT staff
