Job summary

Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, IA is seeking a Maintenance Worker to support the Facility Department. The role involves floor care, cleaning, preventative maintenance, and basic repairs across the main campus and Milford location.

You will operate light yard equipment, assist with snow removal during winter events, and help maintain safety and sanitary conditions. A high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and experience with floor care or painting are preferred.

  • Wall repair and painting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform floor care and cleaning across the main campus and Milford location.
  • Inspect and repair facility equipment and systems; assist with preventative maintenance.
  • Secure and open the facility daily; respond to security concerns as needed.
  • During snow events, perform snow removal from sidewalks and exits with a tractor and shovel.
  • Maintain carpeted areas and general housekeeping duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include general preventative and reactive maintenance duties such as inspecting and repairing equipment, the facility and its systems. Maintains hardwood floors including daily disinfection as well as routine waxing; maintains carpeted areas including daily care as well as routing extraction and cleaning. Performs general housekeeping, maintenance and other duties as assigned. Security duties include securing and opening the facility on a daily basis and responding to Security concerns. During a snow event, the candidate will be responsible for snow removal from sidewalks and facility exits using a tractor and shovel.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or GED equivalent. Floor care experience helpful. Must be able to operate small yard equipment effectively. Driver’s License required. Wall repair and painting experience is required. Must have experience in taping, rolling, brushing and cutting edges, minor sheetrock installation, taping, mudding and texturing experience also preferred.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE &/OR REGISTRATIONS:Adult/Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Certification or completion within the first 6 months of employment.
