Women In Need (Win) seeks a dependable Maintenance Worker to support upkeep, safety, and appearance of shelter facilities. You will perform routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and cleaning to provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, basic repair skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus; position is based at our New York shelter.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience performing building maintenance, repairs, custodial services, or related work preferred.
• Ability to perform basic plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry repairs.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections throughout the facility and grounds.
• Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming indoor and outdoor spaces, including snow and ice removal.
• Repair furniture, appliances, equipment, doors, locks, and other building components.
• Complete minor plumbing, electrical, painting, and sheetrock repairs.
• Conduct unit inspections and perform preventative maintenance activities.
• Inspect, maintain, and replace smoke and carbon monoxide detectors as needed.
• Assist with seasonal maintenance of heating and air conditioning units.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and complete additional duties as assigned.

THE ROLE
