Job summary

Champion Home Builders, Inc. in Laurinburg, NC is seeking a Maintenance Worker to join our manufacturing facility. You will install, maintain, and repair machinery, electrical systems, and piping while supporting production timelines.

The role requires a one-year certificate or 3–6 months related experience. Candidates should be able to work with minimal supervision, lift and maneuver parts, and perform routine maintenance in a safety‑conscious environment.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
• Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment and discusses operation variations to diagnose problems.
• Dismantles defective machines and installs new or repaired parts.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Schedules maintenance to avoid hindering production timelines.
• Coordinates repairs to assist production in meeting schedules.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus and related components of machinery and equipment.
• Maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

Summary:

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
• Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Schedule maintenance in a manner that will not hinder the production team from meeting their scheduled timelines.
• Coordinates repairs in a timely manner to assist the production team in meeting their scheduled timelines.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
• Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
• May be required to perform non-maintenance duties on a temporary basis.
