This position is located with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Wildlife Services (WS), National Wildlife Research Center (NWRC) program. The program is multi-faceted and is directed at the reduction of wildlife damage as it relates to agriculture, human health and safety, public and private property, and natural resources.

To qualify for the WG-07 Grade Level, you must show you have had training and experience of sufficient scope and quality to provide you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Your resume MUST support the experience required for the grade level being appointed. Your resume must include this experience, being mindful that experience may not be inferred by job title.
I am able to perform most Maintenance Worker tasks including: routine maintenance on facility and animal care equipment; assisting with construction, preventative maintenance, repairs, and modifications of mechanical, electrical, air, and vacuum equipment; performing scheduled preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment; scraping, caulking, and painting building interior and exteriors; and selecting tools and deciding on methods and techniques to use. I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who reviews my work for completion.
Must have demonstrated ability to do the work of a Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required for this position are as follows:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
