Job summary

Generations Group is seeking a Facilities Maintenance worker to sustain a 24/7 operations environment. You will perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks, maintain mechanical, electrical and life-safety systems, and keep facilities and grounds in good condition across multiple locations.

You will also oversee contractors, ensure safe practices, quality work and clean work areas, respond to on-call emergencies, and support office moves and furniture reconfigurations as required.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1+ years experience in facilities maintenance.
• Possession of a valid South Carolina Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
• Background check must be clear.
• Strong knowledge of safe work practices for maintenance operations.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 operation and respond to after-hours emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Performs building repairs.

Job Summary

• The Facilities Maintenance worker’s primary role is to perform various skilled and semi-skilled tasks to maintain a 24/7 facilities operation.
• Responsibilities include maintaining the mechanical, electrical and life safety equipment as well as, the appearances of the facilities and grounds at various property locations.
• The position also assists with overseeing the work performed by various contractors ensuring they use safe practices, do quality work and clean up their work area.

Essential Functions

• Performs building repairs.
• Performs minor plumbing maintenance.
• Performs daily site inspections of the facilities and mechanical equipment to ensure proper operation. Performs preventative maintenance to building systems and equipment as assigned.Performs scheduled and “as needed” inspection and preventative maintenance on tools and equipment to maintain operability of the tools and equipment.
• Performs repairs of the Heat Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
• Performs electrical repairs.
• Performs administrative duties which includes, but is not limited to, creating and closing work requests.
• Provides assistance in office furniture reconfigurations, furniture moves and office moves as requested.

Additional Responsibilities

• Provides facilities-related support for various events such as all-hands meetings, employee lunches, off-site events and other departmental requests.

Qualifications

• MUST BE ABLE TO CLEAR BACKGROUND CHECK.
• Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• One plus years experience in facilities maintenance.
• Possession of a valid South Carolina Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
• Basic but proven experience with a variety of trades in the maintenance of commercial office space such as the operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and life safety equipment supporting a 24/7 operation.
• Strong knowledge of safe work practices and procedure typical for maintenance operations.
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proven ability to work successfully in a team environment with limited resources.
• Ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work various hours and respond to after hour’s emergency requests in an on call rotation.
• Experience writing and/or documenting facility-related processes and procedures.
• Strong ability to analyze problems and follow the most effective protocol through to completion.
