Position Overview

• Weld metal parts using gas welding or brazing, including arc welding processes.
• Perform plasma, oxygen/acetylene, air arc, and track torch cutting and grinding tasks.
• Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and modify metal components.
• Position and clamp components of fabricated metal products prior to welding.
• Maintain and set up plants and mobile equipment requiring welding skills.
• Complete projects utilizing mechanical skills.
• Operate forklifts.
• Apply problem-solving skills to complete various projects.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Experience in steel fabrication is preferred, with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic math skills, including reading fractions and tape measure measurements.
• Ability to read shop prints.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform Stick and MIG welding in overhead, horizontal, and vertical positions, with certification passing ability.
• Use oxy/fuel torch to cut steel.
• Lift up to 40 lbs. as needed.
• Partner with shop team members and perform tasks as directed to meet daily schedules.
• Use various handheld tools.
• Maintain attendance according to policy.
• Show initiative and assist with other tasks as needed.
• Maintain a courteous and professional attitude with co-workers, customers, and the public.
