Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Associate to perform basic maintenance and deep cleaning in guest rooms and public areas at a property on a US Military Installation (Fort Belvoir). You will carry tools, prepare work sites, assist with preventive maintenance, and help other departments to ensure prompt, courteous service.

• Complete basic maintenance tasks and deep cleaning to keep guest areas clean and well-repaired.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
• Carry tools, prepare the worksite and assist maintenance representatives.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
• Promote teamwork and quality service across departments.

Responsibilities

• Complete basic maintenance tasks and deep cleaning to keep guest rooms and public areas in an excellent state of cleanliness and repair.
• Assist with the completion of the preventative maintenance checklist and complete minor repairs work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, unclogging toilets, replacing faucet washers, etc.
• Carry tools, prepare the worksite and assist maintenance representatives as needed.
• Clean and sweep the parking lot, pool, public outdoor and sidewalk areas.
• Cut, prune and maintain lawn and plants as necessary and dispose of trimmings.
• Report all unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
• Adhere to all established safety policies and procedures.
• Follow procedures that ensure the security of inventory such as tools, supplies, equipment, etc., replenish supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner, and minimize waste.
• Provide guest shuttle service as requested.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as necessary
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

This property is located on a US Military Installation. Successful completion of a Federal Background check, conducted by the Installation Visitor's Center, will be required to access the Installation. This is necessary in order to come to the hotel for an interview for this position. If hired, this background check will be required to be renewed annually at minimum. DOD sponsored ID holders are not subject to this process.
