Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking an experienced Maintenance Training Manager 2 to join our Flight Operations organization. This position will be located at Palmdale, CA. Start dates are contingent on program funding and may be delayed by funding confirmations.

The role leads a team of maintenance trainers, designs training programs, and develops assessments to measure effectiveness. Occasional travel up to 25% and the possibility of initial training abroad are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience; OR a High school diploma/GED with 9 years of experience
• 2 years of leadership experience in training and/or maintenance
• Experience with courseware sustainment
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
• Must be able to travel to various locations for initial training for a minimum of 24 weeks prior to relocating to the permanent location
• Ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required

Responsibilities

• Oversees a team of Maintenance Trainers responsible for tracking and instructing a training pipeline
• Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel
• Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities
• Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques
• Develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments
• May evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs
• May be responsible for development of e-learning programs
