JSX seeks a Maintenance Training Instructor to develop and deliver high-quality aviation maintenance training for Technical Operations Crewmembers. You will support the Maintenance Training Program with classroom instruction, curriculum development, trainee evaluation, and training administration, covering FAA parts and maintenance topics as required.

The ideal candidate has a strong aviation maintenance background, excellent public speaking and instructional skills, proficiency with PowerPoint

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, deliver, review, and evaluate Maintenance Training Program courses per FAA guidance and JSX policies.
  • Develop and maintain courseware, trainings aids, assessments, and supporting materials.
  • Identify training requirements based on applicable regulations (e.g., 14 CFR Parts 23, 25, 35, 43, 65, 91, 121, 135, 145).
  • Create new training content from maintenance standards and feedback.
  • Conduct indoctrination training for Technical Operations Crewmembers.
  • Serve as SME and liaison on maintenance training matters.
  • Monitor and remediate trainee performance; ensure records are audit-ready.

About the Role

The Maintenance Training Instructor is responsible for developing and delivering high-quality training to JSX Technical Operations Crewmembers. Reporting to the Maintenance Training Manager, this role supports the JSX Maintenance Training Program through classroom instruction, technical coaching, curriculum development, trainee evaluation, and training administration. Training may include 14 CFR Parts 135, 145, and 91; Human Factors; HAZMAT Familiarization; Basic Aircraft Movement; aircraft jacking; Suspected Unapproved Parts; the General Maintenance Manual; forms and documentation; Deferred Maintenance; MTLM; aircraft familiarization; Receiving Inspector; Airworthiness Release; Required Inspection Items (RII); and engine start, taxi, and run procedures.

A Day in the Life
  • Develop, plan, deliver, review, and evaluate required Maintenance Training Program courses in accordance with FAA guidance and JSX policies.
  • Develop, update, and maintain courseware, training aids, assessments, and supporting materials for technical training programs.
  • Identify training requirements based on applicable regulations, including 14 CFR Parts 23, 25, 35, 43, 65, 91, 121, 135, and 145.
  • Develop new training content based on maintenance standards, Crewmember feedback, trainee needs, performance trends, and curriculum requirements.
  • Conduct indoctrination training for Technical Operations Crewmembers.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison between trainees and company leadership on maintenance training matters.
  • Monitor, document, report, and remediate trainee performance in accordance with the Maintenance Training Program.
  • Ensure required recurrent training is completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready training records.
  • Remain current on changes to company policies, procedures, regulations, and maintenance requirements, updating training as needed.
  • Coordinate with government oversight agencies and external training providers on maintenance training matters.
  • Maintain professional and instructional standards consistent with JSX Technical Operations expectations.

Required Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of air carrier Maintenance & Engineering or MRO experience in one or more areas including Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, Production Control, Maintenance Production, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Material Control, Material Planning, Reliability, Maintenance Programs, or Technical Writing.
  • Current, violation-free FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
  • Strong public speaking, presentation, and instructional skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, as well as virtual meeting and training platforms.
  • Experience conducting aviation-specific research and authoring or editing controlled and uncontrolled technical documentation.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as operational or training needs require.
Preferred Experience
  • Associate or bachelors degree in Aviation Technology, Aircraft Maintenance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of classroom instructor experience.
  • Previous 14 CFR Part 121 or Part 135 aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Maintenance experience with ATR or ERJ-series aircraft.
  • Experience developing aviation technical training, assessments, courseware, or instructional materials.
