Job summary

Columbia Forest Products in Virginia is seeking a Maintenance Trainee who will be trained to perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment and troubleshoot with minimal downtime. This feeder position aims to develop a Maintenance Technician through hands-on training and courses at a community college or equivalent.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or 2+ years of maintenance experience, or at least one semester in Industrial Maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or 2+ years maintenance experience required or preferred.
  • One semester of Industrial Maintenance or similar program preferred.
  • Manufacturing environment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment and troubleshoot with minimal downtime.
  • Assist maintenance technicians and production employees with repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Learn and train toward Maintenance Technician role through hands-on work and courses.
  • Order parts needed for projects and maintain basic maintenance shop equipment.
  • Work safely and professionally, following NEC and local codes.
