Job summary

Virnig Manufacturing, Inc. in Central Minnesota seeks a Maintenance & Tooling Manager to lead maintenance operations across multiple plants. You will drive uptime, standardize processes, and oversee tooling readiness for new product launches.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years industrial maintenance experience.
  • 3+ years leadership experience (multi-site preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial systems and automation with a working knowledge of tooling and fixture operations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional multi-site technical teams in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with CMMS and predictive maintenance tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop maintenance teams across multiple plants.
  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Ensure equipment reliability, maximize uptime, and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Standardize maintenance processes and CMMS usage across sites.
  • Attend new product meetings to coordinate tooling build schedules and ensure tooling readiness for on-time product launches.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to ensure tooling solutions align with manufacturing objectives.
  • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and installations.
  • Report on KPIs and align maintenance with production goals.

Description

Located in the heart of Central Minnesota, Virnig Manufacturing has been designing and producing skid steer loader attachments since 1989. From engineering and cutting raw materials to machining, welding, and painting the finished product, all steps of the manufacturing process are done in-house. Today, the family-owned and operated business has grown into a premium attachment manufacturer supplying North America and beyond. By integrating the latest manufacturing technologies and using top-of-the-line materials, Virnig has distinguished themselves as a cut above the rest in the manufacturing industry.

The Maintenance & Tooling Manager Leads maintenance operations across multiple facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective performance of critical equipment. Drive up time of equipment, process standardization, and continuous improvement while managing distributed teams. Provides leadership and strategic oversight to the Tooling Department, including tooling engineers and technicians responsible for fixture design, build, maintenance, and continuous improvement, ensuring tooling resources support production and new product launches.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 annually

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop maintenance teams across multiple plants
  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs
  • Ensure equipment reliability, maximize uptime, and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Standardize maintenance processes and CMMS usage across sites
  • Manage budgets, spare parts, and vendor/contractor performance
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure all contractor policies are followed, and documentation is up to date
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and safety standards (LOTO, hot work, confined space)
Tooling Leadership
  • Provide leadership, direction, and performance management for the Tooling Department, including tooling engineers, technicians, and future support roles.
  • Attend new product meetings to coordinate tooling build schedules and ensure tooling readiness for on-time product launches.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to ensure tooling solutions align with manufacturing objectives.
  • Oversee the scheduling of annual fixture reviews, maintenance and repair
Business Support
  • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and installations
  • Report on KPIs and align maintenance with production goals
