Maintenance Technician

LEMOINE, a Great Place to Work® Certified company, is seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians to support daily facilities operations at a remote workforce housing community serving up to 2,000 residents in West Texas. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager or Camp Manager, the Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance, responds to work orders and service calls, troubleshoots and repairs building systems, and keeps resident rooms, common areas, utilities, and site infrastructure in safe, functional condition. This hands‑on role works across shifts to restore normal operations quickly, supports room turns, and maintains accurate work documentation in a continuous 24/7 camp environment. This position is based at the West Texas camp and is not remote or hybrid.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs preventive maintenance and routine inspections on resident rooms, public spaces, dining areas, laundry facilities, mechanical rooms, and exterior infrastructure according to the site maintenance plan.
  • Responds to work orders and service requests for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliances, doors/locks, lighting, and general repairs; prioritizes urgent issues and completes assigned tasks within required timeframes.
  • Diagnoses equipment and system problems, replaces parts or components, and restores service with minimal disruption to residents and operations.
  • Supports room‑turn readiness by completing punch‑list repairs, testing systems, and confirming units are safe and functional prior to new occupancy.
  • Conducts utility and critical system checks (water, power, HVAC, generators, or related equipment as applicable) and escalates complex or recurring issues to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Documents work completed, parts used, time spent, and open conditions in the work‑order system; maintains accurate logs and communicates status during shift handoffs.
  • Coordinates with guest services, housekeeping, and other departments on access, priorities, and follow‑up to close service requests promptly.
  • Follows all site safety procedures, lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, and HSE standards while working in occupied and remote conditions.
  • Assists with emergency response, severe weather preparations, utility interruptions, and after‑hours calls as assigned on the shift rotation.
  • Maintains tools, materials, and work areas in organized condition and reports supply needs to support continuous operations.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school, technical certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience in general building maintenance, facilities, property operations, hospitality, construction, or comparable multi‑trade environments. Experience in remote workforce housing, large lodging, or oilfield/industrial camps is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair; ability to read simple diagrams, follow procedures, and use common hand and power tools safely.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work orders, prioritize under volume, complete accurate documentation, and work independently or as part of a shift team.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail, with the physical ability to lift, climb, bend, and work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions typical of a remote West Texas site.
  • Ability to work assigned 12‑hour day or night shift rotations, including weekends and holidays, while remaining safety‑focused and responsive. Must maintain a valid driver's license and meet company and client access requirements.
