Job summary

Woodstream Corporation, the largest independent pest and animal control platform in North America, is seeking a Maintenance Technician (1st Shift) in Juneau, Wisconsin. You will support machine uptime, assist with minor troubleshooting, and contribute to facility improvements in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts with certification, maintaining equipment readiness, and helping with setup and safety compliance to ensure consistent production

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to read and write English.

Responsibilities

  • Assist maintenance manager in improving equipment performance and reducing downtime.
  • Operate forklift and high-lift equipment; certified and safe operation.
  • Perform setup, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance on production equipment.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary equipment and workspace per FDA CGMPs.
  • Provide instruction and support to production operators.

Overview Of The Role

Maintenance Technicians are an integral part of the production team. Their success is determined by the positive way in which they communicate, cooperate, interact, and contribute towards achieving Woodstream’s goals and objectives.

Maintenance technicians are responsible for assisting maintenance manager in machine uptime and upkeep. They are to assist the production team with minor troubleshooting and setups. They are responsible for helping with general facility upkeep and assisting with projects.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required.
  • Assist maintenance manager in improving the performance of equipment and processes and participate in the implementation of ideas that reduce downtime and improve overall productivity.
  • Operates forklift and high lift equipment. Must be certified and demonstrate safe operation of equipment at all times.
  • Technician is the machine expert and should possess ability to run, operate and pass operator certifications.
  • Assure equipment availability and readiness to meet the production schedule requirements and throughput rates for workcenters throughout the plant.
  • Maintain uptime on all production equipment to meet throughput rates on a consistent and reliable basis.
  • Perform clean, inspect and lubricate procedures.
  • Ensures equipment and tools are clean and sanitary, following the FDA’s CGMPs.
  • Diagnose machine problems quickly, perform effective troubleshooting of equipment and processes to maintain production of machinery.
  • Complete set-ups in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with all scheduled production requirements.
  • Provides quality instruction, education, and support to production operators.
  • Demonstrates safety awareness and executes safety policies and procedures at all times. Ensures the safety of others by sharing knowledge as it pertains to our facilities, equipment, and employees.
  • Technician will be responsible for facility and grounds upkeep and presentation including but not limited to changing light bulbs, shoveling, painting, and cleaning.
  • Maintains a safe, sanitary, and orderly work environment, wherever duties are performed.

Successful Candidate Profile
  • High School Diploma/GED required or proven on the job-related technical experience
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • An understanding of basic math skills.
  • The ability to use basic measurement tools.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting
  • Set-up/troubleshooting, repair and maintenance experience in a machine-based, FDA manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to continually learn and develop new skills and knowledge.
  • Methodical and effective troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Initiative to pursue both personal and team goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English
  • Ability to keep several projects moving forward at the same time.
  • Self-motivated, able to work with little supervision.
  • Able to work with and receive direction from many individuals besides his or her direct supervisor.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Provides input to ensure continuous improvements throughout the plant.
  • Ability to understand and work with companywide priorities.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Desire and ability to help others improve their technical skills.
