Job summary

Cornerstone Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance and upkeep of building, fixtures, and residential spaces in Sioux Falls. This full-time, hourly role runs Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm, with on-call 24/7 as needed.

Responsibilities include responding to service requests, repairing appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing units for move-ins.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum two years’ general residential maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and energy management systems.
• Certifications/licenses as required by local, state, or other regulations.
• Must have reliable transportation, maintain auto insurance, and have a valid driver’s license.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work on-call as scheduled and work weekends and after hours as necessary.
• Must be able to pass background and drug screen.

• Repair/replace apartment materials and perform maintenance requests.
• Identify and perform routine preventative maintenance assignments.
• Inspect and repair vacant units and prepare for move-ins.
• Work on-call as scheduled 24/7, weekend shifts, and overtime as necessary and pre-approved by the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager.
• Perform tasks and operate machinery in a safe manner and in compliance with safety procedures.
• Complete grounds work, such as grounds pick up, sweeping, and light landscaping.
• Perform other duties as requested to support property operations.

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and other duties to ensure the preservation and upkeep of the building, fixtures, and residential spaces.

CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Hourly/Non-Exempt

SHIFT: Monday- Friday, 8 am- 5 pm

COMPENSATION: $25-$29 per hour (DOE). Eligible for commissions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
