Job summary

Cornerstone Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Utah to preserve and maintain building systems and units. This full-time, hourly position includes 8am-5pm shifts, on-site work, and a compensation range of $26-$28 per hour with potential bonuses.

Responsibilities include responding to service requests, performing repairs on appliances, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, and coordinating move-ins.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum two years of general residential maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and energy management systems.
  • Certifications/licenses as required by local/state regulations.
  • Reliable transportation, auto insurance, and valid driver’s license.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work on-call, weekends and after hours as needed.
  • Must pass background and drug screening.

  • Repair or replace appliances, plumbing, and HVAC/electrical systems as needed.
  • Repair/replace apartment materials and perform maintenance requests.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect and prepare vacant units for move-ins.
  • Work on-call as scheduled and handle overtime as necessary.
  • Operate equipment safely per procedures and safety rules.
  • Complete grounds work and light landscaping.
  • Support property operations with other duties as required.

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and other duties to assure the preservation and upkeep of the building, fixtures, and residential spaces.

CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Hourly/Non-Exempt

SHIFT: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5pm

COMPENSATION: $26-$28 per hour (DOE), Eligible for bonuses

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Respond to resident/management service requests for occupied and vacant rental units.
  2. Repair/replace appliances, plumbing, and air conditioning/heating/electrical systems as needed.
  3. Repair/replace apartment materials and perform maintenance requests.
  4. Identify and perform routine preventative maintenance assignments.
  5. Inspect and repair vacant units and prepare for move-ins.
  6. Work on-call as scheduled 24/7, weekend shifts, and overtime as necessary and pre-approved by the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager.
  7. Perform tasks and operate machinery in a safe manner and in compliance with safety procedures.
  8. Complete grounds work, such as grounds pick up, sweeping, and light landscaping.
  9. Perform other duties as requested to support property operations.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years' general residential maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and energy management systems.
