Work Schedule: Saturday-Sunday, 7pm-7:30am & Monday-Tuesday, 11pm-7:30am

MISSION STATEMENT

SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the HVAC Mechanic position is to maintain heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems. This position impacts the HVAC/R systems through maintenance and service.

Installs, maintains and repairs HVAC systems. Makes initial settings and final adjustments of commercial HVAC systems and modifies existing installations to obtain required results. Monitors and troubleshoots HVAC issues through BAS systems and/or other diagnostic tools. Follows schedule of preventive maintenance and makes recommendations regarding major overhaul of systems. Investigates outages. May order materials and maintain inventory.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Maintain, Repair, Troubleshoot

1. Applies general craft knowledge and skills by following work instructions to:
a. Install and/or repair ceiling grids & tiles complete with air supply and exhaust diffusers.
b. Install and/or repair vinyl, carpeted floors, & cove base.
c. HVAC initial response for hot/cold calls, odors, exhaust issues, repair or replace equipment, etc.
d. Plumbing initial response to unclog water closets, sinks, shut off fixture stops, use sewer machines on floor drains, replace faucets, valves and fixtures, etc.
e. Electrical tasks such as clean/replace light diffusers, replace lamps and ballasts, etc.
f. Repair and maintain utility systems equipment, such as, pumps, valves, steam systems, vacuum pumps, compressors, and water softeners.
g. Assist with and perform preventive maintenance as required.
h. Assist with patching and painting as required.
i. Perform installations and repairs on doors, door closers, locks, hinges, framework, alignment, and strike plates. Adjust / replace door closers.
j. All completed work meets professional standards of cleanliness, maintenance and safety in accordance with work instructions
k. May order materials and maintain inventory.
2. Notify management of all recognized equipment repairs.
3. Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.
4. Communicate with team members to identify needs for improvement.
5. Manage all assigned work orders to be completed as per schedules.
6. Other duties as assigned

Respond to calls Respond to customer calls and provide customer services. Communicate on an ongoing basis with customers and clients to determine current status of deliverables and to learn about customer needs. Emergency responses for facilities including code red alarms/

Report and Document Provide complete information to accurately document corrective action, labor hours, and materials used on work orders.
Timely communication to supervisor of any other issues encountered during the performance of work.

Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Two years experience in one or more crafts (i.e. - plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, instrumentation)
