Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. in Joliet, IL seeks a Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable operation of warehouse equipment and facility systems.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on material handling gear, conveyors, and related automation. The role requires a high school diploma or GED with a technical certification in industrial maintenance and at least 3 years' experience in warehousing or manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• The minimum educational background is a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED), and either a technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance or related field is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of related experience is required. Position requires prior experience performing repairs and preventative maintenance on powered industrial equipment such as material handling equipment and automation systems such as conveyance and sortation systems, PLCs, and other related equipment.
• Experience in a warehousing or manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot escalated technical problems and complex mechanical issues including; repairing material handling equipment such as forklifts and warehouse equipment such as picking carousels, conveyors, shrink-wrap machines and inventory racks.
• Perform repair and maintenance duties to the interior and exterior building structure including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, framing, roofing, painting, and other general construction.
• Perform preventive maintenance of rolling stock and equipment as required
• Observe and promote established safety procedures.
• Prioritizes maintenance of red tagged equipment.
• Assist in physical inventories as required.
• May perform other projects and tasks as assigned.
