AIR Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Union Mechanic A at Sterling Apartment Homes in Philadelphia. You will perform apartment turns, handle resident service requests, and contribute to a fast-paced maintenance team.

With at least 2 years in maintenance and proficiency in two trades, you’ll use modern tools, receive on-site pay and potential quarterly bonuses, and have opportunities for career growth through AIR's training programs. Schedule is Sunday-Thursday, 7:00am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a facilities or building environment.
• Proficient in at least two technical trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends.
• Reliable transportation to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to residents and assist the team.
• Complete basic apartment turns and routine maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances.
• May train other maintenance technicians and support skill development.
• Assist with vendor quality and move-in/move-out inspections.
• Adapt responsibilities based on team, systems, and season.

What You Will Do

• Provide excellent service to residents and assistance to team members.
• Follow AIR’s process for completion of basic apartment turns to make the apartment ready for the next resident’s perfect move-in experience
• With general direction, complete resident requested repairs and routine maintenance (i.e. troubleshoot and repair/replace plumbing, basic electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances, etc.)
• May provide functional/technical direction and training to other Maintenance Technicians and support the development of technical skills.
• May assist with managing vendor qualityand may perform move-in/move-out inspections.
• Responsibilities vary based on team member skillset and community needs, mechanical systems, and season.

What You Have

• At least 2years of maintenance experience, preferably in some form of facilities or building environment
• Proficient skills in at least two technical trades(plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
• Ability to work a flexible scheduleincluding evenings, weekends, 7-day work weeks (depending on community needs and seasonality), and on-call shifts (at least one week a month).
• A reliable mode of transportationto respond to emergency service requests while on-call after hours.
• Comfort with physical activityas you must be able and willing to move heavy equipment and machinery.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Standard union rate at $24.03 per hour for Mechanic A or $21.51 per hour for Mechanic B - depending on candidate's skill set and experience. Rate will increase upon the six-month anniversary. Standard scheduled rate increases apply based on Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The schedule is Sunday-Thursday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.

The benefits included with this position are based off the Collective Bargaining Agreement standards.
