A leading company is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Tech 1) in Wheeling, IL to ensure production equipment is maintained and operational. This entry-level position involves responsibilities such as preparing and configuring machinery, conducting hands-on training, and maintaining a safe work environment. Essential Functions
A Ziegenfelder Maintenance Technician 1 is responsible for:
· Ensuring production equipment is set up and maintained to produce quality Ziegenfelder treats ready for delivery to customers.
· Preparing and configuring machinery for scheduled production runs.
· Learn (through hands on training) to troubleshoot mechanical systems, and providing immediate corrective maintenance support to production lines, conveyor belts, and ancillary production equipment.
· Checking and maintaining proper fluid levels in various pieces of equipment.
· Learn (through hands on training) to Performing overhauls of existing production equipment.
· Assist Installing new production equipment.
· Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
· Ability and willingness to complete Maintenance Associate essential functions if needed.
· Complying with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
· This position is responsible for the food safety of our products.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
· High School Education or Equivalent
· Mechanically Minded
· Desire to learn and take direction from maintenance team members
· Ability to motivate in a fast-paced environment.
· Candidate must be flexible in working any shift available for this position
Physical Abilities
· Standing up to 8 hours per day.
· Moving and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.
· Bending, twisting, reaching and grasping actions.
· Good spatial awareness working around manufacturing equipment.
· Desire to learn, receive feedback, and welcome opportunities to grow from maintenance team members at all levels and locations.
· Ability to work in temperatures of less than 32F for more than one hour with proper protection equipment.
· May be subject to noise above 85 decibels with proper protection equipment.
