Job summary

Compass Group's Canteen division in Dubuque, IA is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a full-time role. The position involves skilled building maintenance, electrical and mechanical systems, and supervising a small team.

On-site work with possible evenings/weekends and on-call duties, with training provided where needed. You will perform inspections, maintain logs, troubleshoot HVAC and related equipment, and support preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.
Must have one of the following licenses or a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Assists in making decisions on repairs; reports major problems to supervisor.
Constructs, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems.
Maintains HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems and related equipment.
Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project.
Reads, comprehends and transmits complicated instructions verbally and in writing.
Teaches advanced maintenance skills to department members.
Reviews work of outside vendors and punch lists.
