Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living's Academy Point Mystic seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform repairs (minor and major) and execute regular and preventive maintenance to keep residents comfortable and the facility safe and attractive.

This role reports to the Maintenance Director and supports operations on Fridays and Saturdays, 8 am to 4 pm, with opportunities to develop skills in electrical, carpentry, painting, and chemical safety in a community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Familiar with emergency procedures if chemicals are misused.
• Demonstrates the interest and ability to learn new skills and techniques as needed.
• Demonstrates proper usage of chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Understands practices surrounding proper handling of biohazardous waste.
• Maintains a clean laundry room in an orderly manner and stores chemicals in accordance with product or supervisor instruction.
• Follows standards and practices for specific chemicals.
• Demonstrates excellent mechanical skills.
• Works effectively within the work-order system.
• Performs general maintenance work (light electrical, painting, carpentry, etc.).
