Baker College is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for the Owosso campus, on the second shift. The role involves routine maintenance of equipment, buildings, grounds, and safety systems, plus minor repairs and on-call duties.

A high school diploma or GED and at least two years of maintenance experience are required, with a Michigan driver’s license and basic computer skills (Google Apps, Facilities Management System).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years maintenance experience required.
• Valid State of Michigan driver’s license required.
• Basic computer skills including Google Apps and the Facilities Management System.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, buildings, and outdoor spaces.
• Maintain landscape, trim trees/shrubs/weeds, remove trash, and handle snow/ice (salting) when needed.
• Carry out minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and painting tasks; assemble, install, and move furniture.
• Rekey locks and repair door hardware; perform carpet repairs as required.
• Ensure rooms are properly set up for classes and events; unload/load delivery trucks as needed.
• Adhere to standard procedures, communicate deficiencies to management, and participate in periodic performance reviews.
