Griffith Foods is hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team in Lithonia, GA. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, electrical systems, and building infrastructure to support high-quality food production in compliance with company standards.

Key responsibilities include inspecting equipment, troubleshooting faults, CMMS documentation, and performing PM/PdM tasks. Onsite work with possible overtime and shift differential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or two-year certificate in Electrical Maintenance Technician, Mechatronics, or equivalent program.
• Experience handling food production equipment (mixers, fillers, packaging lines).
• Ability to regularly lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read/write/speak English fluently.
• Ability to work onsite in Lithonia, GA.
• Willingness to work overtime including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment; identify issues with machines.
• Document work orders using CMMS.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts.
• Repair and replace gauges, valves, regulators, and related equipment.
• Maintain building structures and safety protocols.

• Support autonomous maintenance and SOPs for equipment.

Title: Maintenance Technician – Second Shift

Location: Onsite in Lithonia, GA

Shift & Hours: Monday – Friday, 3:00pm – 11:30pm

Hiring Hourly Rate: $36.16/hr. (plus $0.50/hr. Shift Differential)

2 Year Earning Potential Based on Continuous Learning Progression Pay: 6 Months - $37.63/hr. 12 Months - $39.27/hr.

Griffith Foods is hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipes and electrical systems equipment to contribute to the production of high-quality food products in compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and tests machinery and equipment.
• Trouble shooting and repairing equipment by identifying issues with machines.
• Documenting work orders using CMMS.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
• Repairs and maintains the physical structure of the building.
• Set up and operate machine tools such as grinder, lathe, drill press, cutting torches or welding equipment.
• Repairs or fabricates machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
• Performs PMs (Preventive Maintenance) and PD.M. (Predictive Maintenance) as required and follows up with repairs.
• Supporting operations with autonomous maintenance, SOP’s and centerline programs for equipment.
• May operate a forklift or other PIE as required.
• Follows NFPA 70, LOTO and OSHA Safety rules.
• Ensure that BRC protocols are implemented and audited as required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or two-year certificate from college or technical school in Electrical Maintenance Technician, Mechatronics, or equivalent program, OR high school diploma with three years of experience in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC programming.
• Experience handling food production equipment including mixers, fillers, packaging lines, palletizing systems, and bulk delivery systems.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, including the ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; and the ability to communicate with individuals and small groups.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Comfort in entering and working in confined spaces.
• Working knowledge or the ability to gain knowledge of RedZone software.
• Working overtime as needed throughout the week, up to and including Saturday work.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods during the shift.
• Comfortable working with and around allergens and cleaning chemicals.
• Must be able to work onsite in Lithonia location.
• Must currently be at least 18 years of age AND possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

What will set you apart

• 3-5 years of Multi craft experience (Electrical and Mechanical)
• 3 months of experience and/or training in a USDA regulated manufacturing environment
• PLC experience
• Welding certification

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk to communicate and listen effectively. This will require both office and plant environments. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Safely navigate the stairs and ladders.

Environmental Concerns

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud; hearing protection is required in designated areas. Dust and odor are present in the environment.
