Job summary

Hoover Treated Wood Products, Inc. in Oxford, PA is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for maintaining all machinery and equipment in working order while ensuring environmental and safety compliance.

The role covers mechanical and electrical systems, including pumps, conveyors, valves, and electrical boxes. You will complete work orders, respond to downtime, follow preventative maintenance programs, install new equipment, and keep records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Ability to perform cutting, grinding, welding.
• Willingness to learn the treating plant operations.
• Knowledge of bearings, motors, gear boxes, hydraulic systems, pumps and pneumatics.
• Identify worn parts and know how to replace them.
• Work accurately and thoroughly.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Communicate effectively with others.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Work well with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrate Hoover values and initiative.
• Familiarity with Windows programs, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Ensure environmental and safety procedures are followed and report unsafe activities.
• Maintain mechanical equipment (pumps, conveyors, valves, burners, etc.).
• Maintain electrical equipment (breaker boxes, sensors, lighting).
• Complete work orders and respond to downtime.
• Maintain preventative maintenance programs and records.
• Install new equipment and run electrical wiring or piping as directed.
• Keep shop area clean and safe.
• Troubleshoot problems with engineers as directed.
• Use PM tools to diagnose issues and repair.
• Attend safety trainings and meetings.
• Perform other duties as directed.
