Job summary

Piston Automotive is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment, including vision systems, robots, and torque systems. The role involves light fabrication, electrical work, and safety compliance on the shop floor.

The position requires a strong mechanical and electrical background, PLC troubleshooting with RSLogix, and ability to read manuals and work orders.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and/or six or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of general building maintenance and repair
• Sufficient mechanical knowledge to identify and correct mechanical malfunctions
• Proficient in electrical repair and machinery installation
• Proficient with High Voltage Electrical Safety and Arc Flash requirements
• Ability to read and comprehend manuals, vendor manuals, technical data and work orders
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly
• Ability to operate in a team oriented environment
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming (RSLogix 500/5000, RSView)
• Experience with vision systems and Cognex Insite Explorer

Responsibilities

• Support Production operations with equipment troubleshooting, recovery and repair including vision systems, robots and torque systems
• Perform and follow through on regular, preventative and predictive maintenance of equipment
• Light fabrication of fixtures, brackets and material handling items
• Repair work including painting, carpentry, plumbing and facility maintenance
• Receive work orders and schedule own assignments
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards
• May work overtime including weekends and holidays
• Interface with Production IT for system performance and enhancements
• Support mechanical installations as directed
• Other duties as assigned
