Job summary

Primient is seeking a Refinery Maintenance Technician to monitor and maintain heavy‑duty plant equipment in our food processing refinery. The role requires reading blueprints, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance to keep operations safe and efficient.

The successful candidate has a high school diploma or GED, vocational training preferred, and hands‑on experience with diagnostic tools, power tools, and maintenance software. Rotating shifts and overtime may be required.

About the Role

Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar industrial maintenance role. Strong mechanical background/experience. Proficiency with diagnostic tools, power tools, and maintenance software. Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and other documents. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with co‑workers and supervisors. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects. Must have the availability to work a rotating shift when needed, and unscheduled overtime.

A refinery maintenance technician is a specialized industrial professional responsible for inspecting, repairing, and optimizing the heavy‑duty machinery and complex piping systems within a food processing plant. Their primary goal is to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient plant operations by preventing equipment failures and minimizing costly production downtime.

Key responsibilities:
  • Refinery Maintenance Technician Equipment Monitoring: Oversee refinery plant equipment, including pumps, compressors, tanks, and blowers. Replace and repair as needed.
  • Compliance and Safety: Monitor and control emissions and conduct routine safety, and maintenance checks.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical and process issues and perform adjustments as needed.
  • Documentation: Track inventory, maintain service records, and report malfunctions.
About You

High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical diploma or certification is a plus. Vocational training or apprenticeship in a relevant field preferred. Relevant certifications are advantageous. Previous years of experience in maintenance or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
