Job summary

Primient is seeking an engineer to drive reliability on capital projects at our Indiana site. You will oversee large and small projects, ensure reliability and maintainability, and develop on-site process knowledge.

The role demands a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and at least three years in manufacturing, with strong communication and knowledge of process safety management. Experience with chemical processes is a plus.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ engineering experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of chemical unit operations and PSM is useful.

Responsibilities

  • Work capital projects (>$1m) and small ones (<$50k) with reliability design and maintainability.
  • Develop and maintain understanding of on-site operating processes.
  • Facilitate RCAs and act as equipment SME for RCAs.
  • Contribute to plant-wide reliability initiatives and long-term stability.
  • Develop understanding of maintenance KPIs and improvement initiatives.
  • Focus on equipment uptime and correct installation of new equipment.
  • Provide regulatory interpretation and technical support for site projects.
  • Support compliance efforts per OSHA, ASME, NFPA, and PSM.

Key Responsibilities


  • Work Capital projects both large (>$1m) and small ($<50k) incorporating reliability design and maintainability into new equipment and process.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the operating processes on site.

  • Facilitate RCAs and act as equipment SME for RCAs when appropriate.

  • Contribute to plant-wide reliability initiatives and strategies for long-term operational stability.

  • Develop an understanding of maintenance department KPIs and improvement initiatives.

  • Focus on equipment uptime, and correct installation of new equipment.

  • Provide regulatory interpretation and technical support for site projects.

  • Support Compliance efforts in line with OSHA, ASME, NFPA, Process Safety Management (PSM).


About the Role

BSc in Mechanical Engineering or any related engineering field. Minimum of three years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of basic chemical unit operations and Process Safety Management (PSM) systems. It is useful, but certainly not essential, if you have experience in chemical processes or production.


Total Rewards

The annual pay range estimated for this position is $123,515.20 - $154,394.00 and is bonus eligible. Please note that while this range reflects the full spectrum of compensation available for this role, individual compensation will be determined based on several factors including your experience, skills, and alignment with the role’s responsibilities.
