The City of Huber Heights, Ohio, located just minutes from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and in close proximity of the Dayton International Airport and the I-75/I-70 “Crossroads of America” interchange with a population of 43,439, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full-time Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for assisting with road repair, snow removal, maintenance of all parks and public buildings to include, mowing, landscaping, cleaning park shelters and restrooms. Also perform equipment operation, such as backhoe, grader, roller, dump truck, street sweeper and other heavy equipment.

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and previous work experience or training in road infrastructure construction and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to provide sufficient evidence of the successful performance of the essential functions of the job. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio Driver License and a Class “A” Commercial Driver License (CDL) or obtain within 12 months from date of hire.

Benefits include, but not limited to, sick leave accrual, vacation leave accrual, 28 hours of personal leave, 1% pension pick up by the City, employer paid life insurance, and excellent health insurance benefits to include employer paid premium and contributions to HSA or HRA. The selection process will include applicant screening and oral interview(s) on a date TBD. Prior to appointment, applicant must submit to an extensive background investigation, drug screen and physical. Entry level wage rate is $25.30 with a four-step process to a wage rate of $35.12 at the final step.
