Job summary

Yugo Starkville Campus is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure safety and upkeep of the property. You will handle resident work orders, perform general repairs, and assist with turn activities to prepare units for new residents.

The role requires at least 1 year of maintenance experience (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), a high school diploma, and EPA Type I certification preferred. Eligible candidates should be able to lift 50 pounds and work in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
• EPA Type I certification preferred.
• Pool maintenance certification preferred if local regulations require it.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build and maintain relationships.
• Proficient with technology and online systems.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident work orders efficiently and professionally, ensuring timely, high-quality repairs.
• Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests, concerns and emergencies with excellent customer service.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, painting, appliance repair, carpentry and other tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment and common areas to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain overall appearance, safety, and functionality of the property and community spaces.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents by completing inspections and repairs.
• Maintain pools, spas and related equipment while complying with safety requirements.
• Participate in on-call and after-hours emergency maintenance as scheduled.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure quality work.
