Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school and 3-5 years of related experience.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Demonstrated leadership, organization and communication skills are necessary.
• Ability to anticipate problems and implement preventative measures.

Responsibilities

• Observes mechanical devices and diagnoses malfunctions by listening to sounds.
• Stud ies blueprints, sketches, and machine parts or specifications.
• Dismantles machinery to gain access to defective parts and replaces them.
• Inspects parts and ensures proper dimensional requirements and tolerances.
