Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Hickory, NC. You will ensure equipment operates efficiently through preventive maintenance, calibration, and prompt breakdown repair.

A technical degree or 3–5 years of hands-on experience is required, along with proficiency in meters, gauges, lathes, mills, and related tools. The role includes troubleshooting, executing maintenance per schedules, and collaborating with production and engineering to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to an accredited apprenticeship program preferred.
• Thorough understanding of machine function and equipment processes.
• Must be proficient in the use of meters, hand tools, and shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment failure and perform root cause analysis.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair work that requires equipment downtime per schedule.
• Complete maintenance work orders and CMMS documentation during normal performance of analysis and data collection.
• Keep coordinators, supervisors, and operators informed of changes or issues during maintenance.
• Support production and engineering with maintenance repair needs.
• Procure needed parts for projects or machine repair as required.
• Work with outside contractors for PMs and repairs.
• Work in a team environment that fosters safety and respect.
• You may be assigned duties not contained in this description.
• Follow safe material handling procedures.
