Job summary

Valence Surface Technologies is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for shop-based preventive maintenance on plating machinery in Massachusetts. You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and document activities while collaborating with senior technicians to improve safety and efficiency.

Primary duties include installations, disassembly/assembly, and maintaining clean, well-organized workspaces. A strong emphasis on safety, precise records, and ongoing skill development is required.

Qualifications

• Performs routine inspections and preventive maintenance on plating machinery and related equipment.
• Assists in diagnosing malfunctions and participates in root-cause troubleshooting.
• Keeps accurate maintenance records and documents work orders.
• Coordinates with senior/other technicians to support maintenance tasks.
• Adheres to safety policies and maintains a clean, organized workshop.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and service plating equipment per schedule.
• Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Perform basic repairs and adjustments to equipment.
• Assist in installations, disassembly and assembly as needed.
• Maintain logs, work orders, and inventory records.
• Participate in training to improve technical skills.
• Support upgrades or modifications to improve safety and efficiency.
• Ensure safe work environment and proper tool storage.
