Job summary

Valence Surface Technologies is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for shop-based preventive maintenance on plating machinery in Massachusetts. You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and document activities while collaborating with senior technicians to improve safety and efficiency.

Primary duties include installations, disassembly/assembly, and maintaining clean, well-organized workspaces. A strong emphasis on safety, precise records, and ongoing skill development is required.

Qualifications

• Performs routine inspections and preventive maintenance on plating machinery and related equipment.
• Assists in diagnosing malfunctions and participates in root-cause troubleshooting.
• Keeps accurate maintenance records and documents work orders.
• Coordinates with senior/other technicians to support maintenance tasks.
• Adheres to safety policies and maintains a clean, organized workshop.

Responsibilities

Job description

The majority of work is performed in shop conditions.

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on plating machinery, tanks, rectifiers, and other equipment according to established schedules and maintenance procedures.
• Assist in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and participate in troubleshooting efforts to identify root causes of issues.
• Perform basic repairs and adjustments on plating equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and maintenance standards.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Technician I and III to support their development and enhance the efficiency of maintenance activities.
• Assist in equipment installations, disassembly, and assembly tasks as required by the maintenance team.
• Help maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory records.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops to further develop technical skills and stay current with industry best practices.
• Support senior technicians in identifying opportunities for equipment upgrades, modifications, or enhancements to improve efficiency and safety.
• Comply with all safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the maintenance workshop, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored and in good working condition.

• Compensation $36.00 to $40.00 Hourly
• $5k sign on bonus after 1 year of employment with requirements
