Samaritas in Mount Pleasant, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Affordable Living Community. This part-time role (24 hours/week) covers routine and preventative maintenance, light plumbing/electrical repairs, and apartment prep for new residents.

You’ll keep building interiors and grounds in good order, respond to requests with minimal supervision, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for residents. Strong organizational and communication skills matter.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of general maintenance or handyman experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, and general repairs.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work independently.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and units.
• Complete work orders including light plumbing, electrical, and drywall repairs.

Location: Mt. Pleasant, MI

Schedule: Part-Time (24 hours/week)

Pay: $19.50 - $22.25/hour

What You’ll Do

As a Maintenance Worker, you’ll play a key role in keeping the property running smoothly and safely:

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and units
• Complete work orders efficiently, including light plumbing, electrical, and drywall repairs
• Maintain building interiors and exterior grounds, including lawn care and snow removal
• Prepare and clean vacant apartments for new residents
• Respond to maintenance requests and address issues with minimal supervision
• Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and materials
• Support general housekeeping and upkeep of shared spaces

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• At least 1 year of general maintenance or handyman experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, and general repairs
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, vendors, and contractors
• A customer-service mindset with compassion for individuals in affordable housing communities
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities

Additional Requirements

• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with a good driving record
• Current automobile insurance (personal vehicle may be required for work use)
• Availability for on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays as needed
