Job summary

The Good Bread Company is seeking a skilled Bakery Maintenance Technician to maintain manufacturing equipment and facility systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, motor and electrical repairs, and PLC controls troubleshooting to keep production running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have extensive manufacturing maintenance experience, bakery exposure, and clear understanding of electrical and mechanical systems along with safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • 3-5 years electrical experience.
  • 2-3 years bakery experience preferred.
  • Basic machining skills and knowledge of industrial electrical wiring.
  • Ability to troubleshoot pneumatics and packaging equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics; NEC code familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment integrity and timely repair.
  • Support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program to reduce downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair production machinery and facility systems.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose issues and verify work.
  • Follow safety policies and Lock-out/Tag-out procedures; maintain GMP and food safety standards.
  • Repair and maintain boilers, water heaters, and water distribution systems.
  • Assist with line startups and equipment changes as needed.
  • Maintain inventories and parts reorder lists; document work orders and logs.

Position Overview:**$2,000 signing bonus after 90 days of employment!**The Good Bread Company is looking for a motivated, hard-working, and skilled Bakery Maintenance Technician to join our team! The Bakery Maintenance Technician will be asked to maintain the manufacturing facility by utilizing their experience with electrical, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer controls. This includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of machinery relating to bakery food processing equipment, physical structures, mechanical systems, and electrical systems. Maintain complete records of work performed using software, work orders, detailed logs, and have good communication skills across all groups/departments.Assist with equipment change overs and line startups, troubleshooting issues as needed.Identify required parts and maintain current inventories, and parts reorder lists.Assure that all products are manufactured to the highest standard of quality.Participates in continuous improvement, also provides suggestions to improve processes and participates on team projects.Repair and maintain boilers, water heaters, water conditioning equipment, and all water distribution systems.Monitor the main electrical panel and troubleshoot as necessary.Other responsibilities may be assigned by the Supervisor.Job Requirements:5+ years in manufacturing maintenance3-5 years electrical experience2-3 years bakery experience is a plusBasic machining skills & knowledge in industrial electrical control wiringAbility to troubleshoot pneumatics, light industry food production machines, and packaging equipmentSkills in metal fabrication and weldingAble to bend conduitKnowledge of relay logicExperience with 480v - 208v systemsNEC Code familiarityAbility to understand and interpret blueprints and schematicsPhysical Requirements:Able to stand for up to 10 hours, while working with and around machineryAble to stoop, bend and crouch on a regular basisAble to lift 60 pounds once per hour and 10 to 50 pounds repeatedlyAble to sweep, mop, and do general, as well as detailed, cleaningAble to climb laddersThe Good Bread Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
